A total of fourteen Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces personnel from the Chieftaincy of Integrated Resource Management Information System (CIRMIS) are set to obtain Oracle Certification after undergoing a seven weeks training that will be facilitated by the Computer Learning Centre.
While opening the training, the Joint Chief of Staff (JCOS) Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda said the course is tailor-made to suit the needs of the Ministry of Defence and UPDF.
“The requirements of the Ministry of Defence are different and it is only you the users that have seen how best to apply that technology. This course has been designed specifically to answer the needs of the Ministry of Defence,” said Maj Gen Kyanda.
Maj Gen Kyanda expressed gratitude for the choice of facilitator for the training given the constantly changing dynamics in technology.
“Technology changes rapidly and with the coming of the computer, what you use today becomes obsolete by the next day. Partnering with a company that spends a lot of time in doing research and development is an added advantage to us,” the JCOS emphasized.
The Chief of Integrated Resource Management Information Systems, Brig Gen Ephraim Baguma said the Ministry will now boast of a number of Oracle Professionals who will have the confidence to use the system on a regular basis for various solutions.
The opening was attended by the Commissioner Human Resource, Mr Cox Anguzu, Director of Veteran Affairs Brig Gen (Rtd) Emmanuel Musinguzi, CEO Computer Learning Centre Mr Aunally Maloo, Chief of Pension and Gratuity Brig Gen Julius Biryabarema, Director of Records Brig Gen Ceazer Bahwezi, Senior Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs officers.
